Collage…

Most pieces are visual slices of my life, a life’s journey if you will, much like a grouping of photographs that capture moments in time. With collage, time is transcended as many moments can be merged into one image – a new and integrated experience - for me the artist, and that of the viewer.

Derrick has a graphic design major from Grant MacEwan College.  He worked as a professional graphic designer, with his own firm as well as on staff at a local printing company.  He was Production and Design Manager for an Edmonton based Publications Company for a great number of years.  Currently he works for the Provincial Government.  Derrick was a member of the Edmonton Art Club in the 1980s and has been a member of the Alberta Society of Artists since 1990.
