Henson was an active member of the Sketch Club in Lethbridge in its
formative years. A Life
Member of the Alberta Society of Artists, Percy Henson was noted for his
active involvement with the visual arts. For example, as a Lethbridge

versions of this artist’s retreat still take place . He was Editor of
the Alberta Society of Artists (ASA) Highlights newsletter in 1956 and
1959 and Vice-President of that Society from 1957 to 1959.
From 1952 to 1962, he was Director of the Secord House, the new
Edmonton Museum of Art, which is now the Art Gallery of Alberta, a place
of great activity and creative output. Henson received the Performing
